Children Full of Life

Why We Adore this Teacher (A Documentary review).

Meet Mr. Kanamori, a compassionate teacher with a simple, thorough, and heart-warming teaching style. His approach is a blend of academics and life learning.

In this documentary, the 10 year olds are busy learning how to live a happy life and how to care for other people.

With his open and truthful authority, Mr. Kanamori provides space for his pupils to explore their own authority and with that, he exposes them to life’s responsibilities. Letting them fully be in their humanity.

The kids are able to express themselves in a loving and acknowledging setting,  they’re given time and space to do the work! Everyone makes an effort to make themselves understood and to understand others.

Mr. Kanamori supports his students to express themselves via personal note-book letters and encourages them to read the letters out loud.

“Empathy is the greatest thing” says Mr. Kanamori, “when people really listen, they live in your heart forever.” Referring to these notebook letters; words and letters from children’s hearts.

This is such a beautiful practice of self-reflection but also, while sharing aspects of the common human experience, bonding happens which creates a sense of being in it together early on. Bonding is Mr. Kanamori’s favorite word.

“You come to school to be happy. If one person is unhappy, everybody will be unhappy.”

Mr. Kanamori will hold you accountable for it.

Good teachers connect theory with life. With loving confrontations, Mr. Kanamori brings about vulnerable and strong life lessons. The life-force, the vulnerability, and the wisdom of these youngsters are respected and kept alive.

We think that Mr. Kanamori has a lot of fun observing how human interactions and behavior develops within his setting of discipline, respect, and openness. He is dedicated and for sure takes his job seriously, knowing that he is investing in the future!

Everyone should watch this documentary, especially those that are involved in children’s lives and aim to make a difference.

We salute Mr. Kanamori! and aim to plant a track of happiness just like him… May we build an environment full of compassion, support, and bonding!
